Alton Town Council is delighted to announce the return of the much-loved Alton Easter Trail, taking place from Monday 30 March to Monday 13 April 2026.
This free, family-friendly event invites residents and visitors to explore the town while discovering a series of beautifully decorated Easter eggs displayed in shop windows.
This year’s trail proudly showcases 18 uniquely designed Easter eggs, each created by talented local schoolchildren. Participating schools were:
• Binsted CE Primary School
• Andrews’ Endowed CE Primary School
• St Mary’s Bentworth CE Primary School
• St Lawrence CE Primary School
• Wootey Junior School
• Eggar’s School
• Medstead C of E Primary School
• Bentley Church of England Primary School
• Chawton Primary School
Alton Town Council would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the children and schools who took part. Their imagination, creativity and effort have once again transformed the town into a vibrant Easter gallery for everyone to enjoy.
How does the trail work?
Participants can follow the trail map around the town centre, searching for the hidden eggs in local shop windows. Once all are found, completed entries can be submitted to claim a prize—making it a fun and engaging activity for all ages. There is also an opportunity to design your own Easter Egg, complete a word search and a fun maze.
Trail maps will be available from Alton Town Council or can be downloaded from https://www.alton.gov.uk/easter-trail/
