The following communication is from SSEN regarding upcoming road closures:
Upcoming works on Green Street, Standford Lane, and Farnham Road
As you are aware, Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) is investing £10.6million in the local electricity network; with works progressing to install a new underground high-voltage electricity circuits between Alton and Bordon. Once completed, it will boost the reliability of the local network and to enable greater flexibility as homes and businesses move to low-carbon technologies.
Our planned works and road closures
To conduct this work safely, a number of roads will close to through traffic for a period. The schedule of works is as follows:
• Green Street: 1 August 2024 – 31 August 2024. The team will undertake Horizontal Directional Drilling works between Lode Farm and Christmas Cottage and stay in that location.
• Standford Lane: 5 August 2024 – 26 August 2024. The team will start trenching from the junction with Mill Chase Road and move south.
• Farnham Road: 29 August 2024 – 25 September 2024. The team will start trenching from the A325 roundabout and move south.

Please note this schedule is subject to change depending on site and weather conditions. Other works may also be scheduled, with details shared separately.
Keeping you informed
A postcard is being delivered by Royal Mail, to those most closely affected, with further details. A copy of the postcard is attached for your information.
We will be holding a community drop-in event where residents can meet the team, discuss the works, and ask any questions they may have.
The drop-in event will take place on:
• 18 July from 3pm – 7pm at The Shed in Bordon (GU35 0DJ)
