The Town Council’s grounds team have been working tirelessly at King’s Pond over the past two weeks, with invaluable support from a local volunteer, to keep the weir clear by trying to reduce the volume of surface weed/algae pending the arrival of the appointed contractor with their Truxor clearing equipment.
Alton Town Council is pleased to confirm that the contractors have now arrived on site and work begun in clearing the algae weed from the pond, together with a temporary fixed boom being installed at the weir outlet to keep the water moving. It is envisaged that that the action taken will significantly improve the situation and Alton Town Council will continue to monitor the situation closely.
