We are saddened to hear of the death of a former Town Mayor of Alton and Town Councillor Pam Bradford who passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Thursday 18 June.
Pam became a Councillor in 1968 and served on the Alton Urban Council until its demise in 1974. She continued as a Town Councillor on the new Alton Town Council until 2021; a total of more than 50 years’ service to the town. During this time she was honoured to be Alton’s first lady Mayor and served as Mayor twice (1986 – 1987 and 1998 – 2000). Pam was known for her commitment, kindness and tireless work on behalf of others. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and working with her.
Her funeral will take place on Thursday 16th July at Basingstoke Crematorium at 1:15pm. Ruth, Pam’s daughter, has advised that those who are unable to attend the service at the Crematorium will have a chance to get together and remember Pam at Alton Community Centre after the service.
