Alton Town Council has a vacancy for a town councillor for Eastbrooke ward. If ten electors notify East Hampshire District Council by 5pm on Tuesday, 3rd February, there will be an election. Otherwise, the Town Council will seek applicants for co-option.
1. There is a vacancy on Alton Town Council caused by the resignation of Councillor Richard Moore (Eastbrooke Ward).
2. A by-election to fill the vacancy will be held if, within 14 days (not counting Saturdays, Sundays or Public Holidays) from the date below, ten electors for the ward give notice in writing claiming such an election to the Returning Officer.
3. The Address of the Returning Officer is: East Hampshire District Council, PO Box 310, Petersfield, Hampshire GU32 9HN (email: ).
4. If no such notice is given, the Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co-option.
