On Tuesday 17th February, a cold but sunny day, half term family fun was had in the Public Gardens for Alton Town Council’s Pancake Race. The event drew enthusiastic participants and spectators of all ages. This year we were lucky to have Capra Espresso serve pancakes to visitors to the park.
The children waited patiently until it was their turn to race and then ran with enthusiasm, agility and determination. Each category had very close qualifying heats, with the first 2 children going through to the final, where the winners emerged triumphant in this friendly and fun competition.

Thank you to The Town Crier for helping on the day with starting the races and the Town Mayor for her help during the race and presenting prizes. The Alton Pancake Race continues to be a highlight of the town’s calendar, showing community bonds and creating cherished memories for participants and spectators alike.
