Amended Writers’ Way

This is a circular walk based on the Writers’ Way. There will be 3 stops for readings.

9:45 am Miss Bell’s Fountain, Butts Road

All walks are free to attend but you must book in advance.

Sorry no dogs allowed.

All travel costs (buses, trains and parking) is at the expense of the walker.

Please arrive 15 mins before the start of the walk.

Please remember to wear suitable footwear, clothing, water and packed lunch with you.

A majority of the walks are in the countryside/woodland so rest stops for toilets may not be possible.

Row Wood and Shalden

This anti-clockwise walk from the centre of town crossing St Lawrence’s churchyard and passes the Quaker Meeting House. The walk then skirts the cemetery and continues through town paths, Anstey Park, undulating countryside, with excellent views, into arable fields and woodland. The walk returns to Flood Meadows.

10:00 am Bank car park, Alton

6 miles / 2 ½ hours
