Binsted Parish Loop

This is a long circular walk around the parish. There are no demanding climbs but there is a long ascent through Alice Holt Forest. The route takes in Isington, Froyle Mill, Binsted village, Wyck, The Straits, Frith End, Rowledge and Holt Pound.

Start time and meeting point:

9:30 am Gravel Hill car park

Gravel Hill car park is off Gravel Hill Road. Take A31 to the east end of the Bentley Bypass. Turn right where the brown sign for the Forestry Commission Research Station is seen and follow the lane over the river and across fields, then uphill through the forest and over the railway.

After a sharp Right Hand bend the hill levels out. Ignore a track on the Left and take the gravel track on the Right.

Dogs welcome but MUST be on leads

All travel costs (buses, trains and parking) is at the expense of the walker.

Please arrive 15 mins before the start of the walk.

Please remember to wear suitable footwear, clothing and bring water and packed lunch with you.

A majority of the walks are in the countryside/woodland so rest stops for toilets may not be possible.
