THEMED WALK - Nature Walk:
A fairly level route. It follows the old hollow lane in part that was the main route to Alton in Gilbert White’s time before the present Selborne Road was built in the mid-19th century. Points of interest from geology, plants, animals and farm crops and land-use will be pointed out.
Bus (38) from Alton Station to Selborne is 12.50, High Street and Sainsbury’s 12.54 arriving at Selborne at 13.13, enough time for a quick snack at Selborne Arms, White’s Café at the museum, Selborne Coffee shop or bring a picnic – seats on the Plestor and outside Village Hall. There are toilet facilities in the car park behind the Selborne Arms (your last chance).
Wear firm walking boots and bring waterproof in case of rain. Also carry a bottle of water and light snack if required.

2:00 pm / Meet on the Plestor at Selborne (the green opposite Gilbert White’s House)
There is limited parking in Selborne and the car park behind the Selborne Arms charges and is only paid through ‘phone. As the last bus for Selborne from Alton High Street is at 16.29 it is not recommended to park at Selborne.
